When an abandoned dog call came into Harris County Pct 1 Constable Alan Rosen’s Office on October 24, an animal cruelty investigator and Houston SPCA headed to the apartment building in Harris County, Texas.

They were heartbroken when they found an emaciated dog on the balcony of a third-floor apartment with no food or water. Apparently, the dog had been left outside for the past three weeks without anything to eat or drink when the owners vacated the property.

Other residents in the apartment building spotted the neglected dog and contacted local officials. They also tossed food up to her and some even got a ladder and climbed up to the balcony to offer her food and water.

The police station posted the rescue on Facebook and wrote, “The dog was reported to be on the balcony for at least three weeks but started to show severe emaciation recently. The dog was then removed by a seizure warrant and transported to the Houston SPCA for medical evaluation.”

All her ribs were visible as she willingly went with her rescuers.

She is being cared for by Houston SPCA and will hopefully make a full recovery. The investigation is still ongoing but officials said, “Once completed it will be handed over to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.”

People are outraged by this cruelty and hope the people responsible are found and charged.

Grizzy’s Hood News shared an update with fans, including the ones who reached out to help the poor pup. “UPDATE! Yesterday some guardian angels went up on a ladder to feed the pup and give it water. When they went up there, it was noted that the poor dog was surrounded by feces and was underweight. An investigation with local law-enforcement is underway, and the SPCA picked up the dog today! Thank you to all the Hood News Peeps who helped get the word out and made this happen!”
